Passover is the festival that celebrates the Israelites leaving a life of slavery in Egypt to become free, to be servants of G-d.
Not only our Fathers left Egypt; we continue to leave it behind us. The people in ‘Passover, Not Only Our Fathers’ and ‘Song of the Sea’ are every day people that I have sketched in the streets of Jerusalem.
The tambourine paintings show the joy felt when the Jews had passed through the sea. Miriam and other women sang the song of the sea, accompanied by their music.
